Determination of the factors influencing the growth of finance leases in Kenya.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to determine the factors that influence the growth of finance leases in Kenya. Data was collected using a questionnaire personally administered by the researcher which covered firms listed in the- stock exchange. The results show that the factors considered important in influencing the growth were that leases helps in conserving cash flows, assists in having a mixed financing strategy, safeguards against obsolescence and the fact that there is certainty of fixed payments. Of course these results should be interpreted in consideration of the limitations of the study. In this regard, the findings of the study should be viewed as a guide to lease users.
