    Abstract
This book consists of papers from a symposium of the Kenya Chapter of the Society for International Development, Nairobi in 1985, highlighting the importance of proper economic management in the development of Africa. The role of management in economic development is viewed from the perspective of micro and macro economics. The flexibility of management styles and their adaption to social, political, cultural and economic milieux are examined. The book will be of interest to managers in private enterprise, government departments and non-governmental organizations, and to all those interested in enhancing organizational and managerial capabilities for the betterment of Africa.
