The genus Millettia belongs to the family Fabaceae. It is
represented by more than 200 species and is, found widely
distributed in tropical Africa, Australia and Asia. Previous
chemical investigationsof a number" of Millettia species have
resulted in the isolation of flavonoids, isoflavonoids and
nitrogenous compounds.
