Improving Safety In Kenya's Aviation Industry Using Technology

Abstract

As we endeavor as a nation to develop most of the sectors of our economy transport is one of the key pointers. With air being the fastest mode of transport the masses will start using aircrafts more. However there is sector of the aviation industry called safety that does not seem well addressed in Kenya. Safety in the aviation industry is key as it has the potential to lead to loss of life and massive economic losses if neglected. With the brilliant idea of having safety systems implemented in the aviation industry the matter would be solved amicably and all stakeholders would be in control. However the process of developing safety systems in the aviation industry involves researching and understanding the current systems that are already taking care of the issue. It is common knowledge and standard protocol that aircrafts have inbuilt safety mechanisms which are primarily to aid the pilots in navigation and monitoring. In the recent years safety management has been managed by the crew reporting safety hazards and incidences. However human reluctance.'an.d negligence' has led to most of this occurrences not being monitored and analyzed carefully. In developing this system some of the outstanding issues would be out rightly solved. This document is a detailed account of the-research, design and development of an aviation safety management system which if the aviation industry adopts would lead to 'safer sky's The report documents the requirements of the safety sector of aviation in the Kenyan aspect, the activities and resources undertaken to complete the project. The process and the end product is done to its best and that it is the beginning of path that if pursued we expect to improve not only the safety of our skies but also reduce life and property loss.
