    Abstract
The development of computer programs for the analysis of slabs with eccentric beams using the finite element method is presented. In the thesis, the theory of slab-beam interaction is explained in detail and a brief description of the finite element method and the elements used in the programs is given. A general description of the programs is presented and numerical examples are solved to demonstrate the scope of the programs. The results are then compared with those obtained by other investigators using different procedures. Finally the appendices list the user instructions for the preparation of data for input to the finite element programs.
