    Abstract
Systematic collecting of Basidio mycetous fungi from Karura Forest was undertaken in the months of April to July 1991. A total of 270 collections were made, some of which have been studied ecologically and identified, and are reported in this paper. The collections, belonging to 41 species of which 6 were new records for Kenya, are distributed in the families Corticiaceae, Ganodermataceae, hymenochaetaceae and Polyporaceae.
