    Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of information communication technology application on communication efficiency at the Kenya National Examinations Council. Specifically the study sought to determine the influence of information technology on the accuracy of information shared at the Kenya National Examinations Council; establish the influence of information technology on the speed of communication at the Kenya National Examinations Council; establish the extent to which KNEC staff have acquired ICT knowledge and skills to enable them embrace the use of the technology; and to establish the influence of information technology on information management at the Kenya National Examinations Council. The study adopted a descriptive survey. The target population of this study included all the staff working at the Kenya National Examinations Council. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 107 KNEC staff members who participated in the study. The researcher used primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire. Secondary data was obtained from reports and archives. The data collected was captured in Ms excel and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS). The study found out that ICT enhances accuracy, speed and information management at KNEC. However KNEC staff members indicated that they did not acquire ICT knowledge and skills (60%), reducing the efficiency of communication. According to the results of the study the acquired ICT knowledge and skills affected efficiency of communication at KNEC to a little extent (2.0056). The study recommends that KNEC to consider equipping their staff with ICT knowledge and skills to be able to reap maximum benefits of ICT in their service delivery.
