    Abstract
MSEs are estimated to account for 40% of the total employment in Kenya, according to International Labour Organization (ILO). Labour laws are seen as an important means of promoting a decent work environment but often perceived by MSEs as imposing unsustainable regulatory burdens and cost. The basic idea that the application of labour law to MSEs imposes unsustainable costs in itself overlooks the benefits that flow from compliance with labour laws, including the development of a safer, happier, and more productive workforce. This study sought to establish strategic implementation of labour law by Micro and Small Enterprises in Isinya District. The study established that majority of MSEs are aware of the labour laws in Kenya but do not apply the any specific strategy in achieving compliance with the Labour laws neither can they quantify the benefits of labour laws to their business. The study recommends that MSEs should be sensitized on the various labour laws in the Kenya that will help them in providing a decent working environment and increase productivity. MSEs should also endeavour to be more innovative and encourage creativity so as to sustain their business especially in of compliance with the labour laws.
