UoN Terrorists emerge champions at basketball league

Abstract

The University of Nairobi (UoN) men's basketball team- the Terrorists, won the coveted Zuku University Basketball League (ZUBL) trophy 2013, after beating other local universities in matches played over the weekend.

Terrorists emerged winners after beating Mount Kenya University - Nakuru, 72-68 at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani. The team won a cash prize of Kshs. 150,000 and a trophy courtesy of Zuku.

UON’s Geoffrey Oteki, took home the ZUBL MVP and men’s top scorer award. Oteki stirred the crowd with his brilliant performances during the intense battle that saw UON lift the title, winning 72- against MKU’s 68 points.

In the same championship, UoN basketball ladies’ team emerged second runners up after Dedan Kimathi University.
