Varsity joins Kenyans in supporting Westgate cause

Abstract

The University of Nairobi (UoN) has set up a blood donation drive in response to the Westgate Shopping Mall tragedy that befell the nation on Saturday, September 21, 2013.

The blood donation center is at the Chancellor’s Court next to the University sports grounds.

The week-long noble initiative which started on Monday, September 23, 2013 targets students and members of staff to come forward and donate blood in solidarity with the entire nation. It is part of the University’s contribution in supporting the national effort of assisting victims of the tragedy. The University has also sent, medical staff and final year medical students to give assistance to various hospitals in the city.

The UoN takes this opportunity to pass condolences to those who lost their loved ones and to console those whose kin and friends suffered various injuries during the attack.
