| dc.description.abstract | The 5th University of Nairobi Open Day is scheduled for May 8th - 10th, 2014 at the Great Court, Main Campus.
This will be the fifth time the event is being held since the concept was pioneered in 2008 to create an open forum of interaction between the University and its clients.
The event, accords academic units (Faculties, Schools, Institutes, departments and Centres) an opportunity to showcase their products to various stakeholders, among them prospective students, parents, alumni, sponsors, government and members of the public who are interested in getting information on programmes and services offered by the University. This is in addition to opening up the University to public scrutiny and providing a channel for public feedback.
All academic units will participate and each has its own stand, which will be manned by faculty members and administrative staff and supported by students. Non-teaching departments will also participate and exhibit their supportive services. Select organizations, interested in using the occasion to market their products/services and give career advice and opportunities will also be present.
The opening ceremony will be held on May 8th, 2014 in Taifa Hall starting at 9.00am.
