    Abstract
Aflatoxins are a group of mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus species (fungi) under favorable conditions of temperature and humidity. Of late, aflatoxicosis has become important in Kenya because of its morbidity and mortality. This paper will address the contamination of animal feed and human food sources with aflatoxins, knowledge and practices that predispose feeds and food sources to contamination and the effects of climate change will have on future outbreaks of aflatoxin poisoning in Kenya, and, mitigation strategies to control the problem.
