    Abstract
Aldosterone applied locally to the carotid-sinus regions in rabbits produces a substantial rise in arterial pressure. The rise is larger and happens more quickly than when similar doses are given intravenously. Cross-circulation experiments confirm that the action is on the carotid-sinus regions and that it happens at dose levels comparable with secretion-rates seen in Conn's syndrome and malignant hypertension.
