Towards the end of the beginning: development, implications and prospects of Kenya's medical school

Abstract

In this lecture, the author looks back since the Faculty of Medicine was established in the University of Nairobi. In reviewing historical events he draws some lessons for the present and the future. He attempts to review the special needs and problems of the new medical school and poses some of the challenges that must be faced by Kenya if the venture is to prosper.
