Nakuru youth Centre design brief

Abstract

The main target group are people of the ages between 12 years and 35 years. However the centre will also cater for Nursery going children who may also be welcome to the centre. Other persons of an age above 35 years and with a youthful spirit may also be welcome for youthfulness sometimes has no age barrier. The centre will have facilities for young children to help solve delinquent problems as well as training facilities for older youth that will help them acquire such skills as will help in job competition. In addition there will be other recreational facilities in form of games for the youth such as judo and karate, table tennis, boxing, swimming, tennis, netball and basket ball l As opposed to other existing youth centres under the Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A. (Young Men/Women Christian Association), which have emphasis on hostel and recreational facilities my centre will have emphasis on training facilities. This is because in order to help the youth, they must have access to skills that will equip them to help themselves so that they will be better members of a future society.
