Albendazole, mebendazole and levamisole

Abstract

The activity, mode of action, clinical pharmacology, adverse effects, dosages and clinical use of albendazole (against nematodes and hydatids), and mebendazole and levamisole (against nematodes) are briefly reviewed. The immunostimulant effects of levamisole should be further investigated in relation to the treatment of AIDS and leishmaniasis
