    Abstract
    Prof. Patts Odira, Dean School of Engineering, visited Kanazawa University, Japan (1 – 8 March 2014) to discuss opportunities for opening collaboration between the College of Science and Engineering and the School of Engineering, University of Nairobi. Kanazawa University has an active MOU with the College of Health Sciences, UON. Fruitful discussions on undergraduate student exchange, postgraduate training and joint research activities were held with the Dean College of Science and Technology Prof. Yoshihiro Fukumori and various heads of Engineering Departments. Following the visit, two BSc. Electrical Engineering graduates from the School have applied for admission to Kanazawa with sponsorship from JICA. Prof. Odira was taken on a tour of the port of Kanazawa by Prof. Takehisa Saitoh and received by Yoshihisa Sugimura, the Director General, to see the harbour protection works.
