University of Nairobi Tree Planting Day: Friday, 20th April 2012, at Vet Farm – CAVS, Upper Kabete-10.00am

Abstract

This Year’s University of Nairobi Tree Planting Day ceremony will take place on Friday, 20th April 2012 from 10.00 a.m. up to 12.00 noon at the Veterinary Farm (Kanyariri), College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences. Every year the University conducts a tree planting exercise as part of its efforts to conserve the environment to mitigate against adverse effects of climate change. This year’s event is dedicated to the late Prof Wangari Maathai, the Founding Distinguished Chair of Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies and 15000 seedlings will be planted. The tree planting ceremonywill be officiated by Mr. Alexis Vovk, Managing Director, Total Kenya Ltd and graced by top University management, staff, students, development partners and members of the public.
