Abstract

The Kenya Bureau of Standards proposes to reconstitute its Renewable Energy Technical Committee into specific subject areas by creation of sub committees for effective handling of work. The subcommittees will focus on developing standards in the specific areas through the use of experts. Some of the subcommittees will be project committees and will be disbanded as soon as their work is complete. The subcommittees will have specific liaisons with international and regional committees of similar scope. Please See attached the Proposed Sub Committees. It is proposed to expand the scope of the TC to also cover Energy Management. The renewable energy resources committee will retain overall responsibility of the renewable energy technology and handle standards where specific expertise is not available. At a meeting held on 5th April 2012, it was proposed to extend the deadline for applications to 5th May 2012.
