Abstract

Dr Akinyi participated in the Shanghai open university international staff exchange fellowship program from june 1st 2015 to june 12th 2015.

Her topic was a comparative study of support systems for Gender Distance Education at Egerton University, Kenya and Shanghai Open University, China.

The participants were drawn from Europe and Asia; one lady from Trinity University Ireland , one lady and a gentleman from Open University of London, A gentleman from Open University of Spain, a lady from Mongolian Science and Technology University, a gentleman from Open University of Malaysia, Mymar Burma) University, South Korea University, Muhungushi University-Zambia. In total we were ten scholars, four ladies and six gentlemen. Only two were drawn from Africa.
