    Abstract
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adoption in the business environment has given a business the means to promote efficiency, cost effectiveness, sustaining business operations and strategy, ICT-business alignment and competitiveness and overall success of the business. The complexity of ICT related technologies has led to the growth of management frameworks. Organisations have taken the initiative to implement these best practices to manage and control their ICT technologies. The study examined the use, management of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in organisations in Kenya. The broad objective of the research was to develop a framework of ICT management framework criteria requirements that improves the current management framework selection. To do so, the data was collected from identified respondents in some selected public and private organisations that have implemented or were in the implementation process, analyzed the outcomes presented, thereby producing the essential relevant criteria. The stratified random sampling design and the Yamane formula were used to select the respondents. A mixed method approach incorporating, both the quantitative and qualitative research approaches were used. A questionnaire was administered to the representative participants and the Spearman’s Rank Order correlation was used to determine correlation coefficients between the elements of interest and the management framework selections. From the findings, there was a gap in a selection process for an ICT management framework. It was noted that many of the organisations have specific requirements that were used to identify and implement a management framework. However, there was no standardized management framework selection method that integrated the specific requirements. In addition, comprehensive understanding and experience, resources and management of these management frameworks is required. Keywords: ICT Management, ICT Management
