Enumeration Of Rational Curves In Complex Projective Plane

Abstract

This project studies rational curves and their enumeration. First, we show that there are a finite numb er of rational curves of degree d passing through 3d − 1 general points in the complex projective plane. Finally, we derive the Kontsevich formula which provides a recursive relation for computing this number of rational curves.
