Cyanogenesis in passion fruit. I. Detection and quantification of cyanide in passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) at different stages of fruit development.
Abstract
Data are presented on the cyanide content of passion fruits at 5 stages of ripeness from young to ripe (fallen and wrinkled). The cyanide content declined progressively during ripening and that of fresh ripe fruits was far below the toxicological limit for human consumption.
