    Abstract
The terrorism threat continues to be an intractable problem for the international community and Kenya in particular due to its negative effect on peace, stability and security. The problem continues to grow and acquiring sophisticated dimensions III tandem with technological revolution in the international system. As a result, the government has instituted measures to deal with the vice including: setting up of a counter-terrorism center, improving economic conditions, enhancement of security, and increasing its diplomatic involvement. However, despite the above measures, the threat of terrorism still remains real within the country due to its location, socio-economic factors, internal cleavages and the international political climate. The challenge is for the government to evolve new and better methods of dealing with the vice including increasing its diplomatic engagement, involvement of the public and private sector enhancing the capabilities of the security forces and being proactive in anti-terrorism matters.
