dc.description.abstractEducation is a key factor in the development of a Nation. Certain subjects Specifically Physics contributes to technological advancement of that Nation. This is why this study looks at those factors that affect Physics performance in Mwingi District and effect they have on the general development of the Nation. Further, the study looks at the general Physics performance in the District and compares it with the National performance. The research study also highlights some of the efforts being made by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to curb the the effects of the factors. By doing this, the MOEST will raise the performance and this will lead to development of the Nation. The Research Methodology and design are looked at in Chapter Three. Here, the target population, the sample and research Instruments and their validity and reliability are also looked at. Data collection and analysis are dealt with in chapter Four. Lastly, chapter Five of the research study gives the Summary. It further contains a conclusion of the study and some recommendations.en
