    Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of HIV I AIDS on teachers of secondary schools as curriculum implementation in Rongo District. The objective of the study were to determine the effects of HIV I AIDS on teacher morale in implementation of the secondary school curriculum, establish the effects of HIV I AIDS on teacher mortality on the implementation of school curriculum in secondary schools, establish the effects of HIV / AIDS on teacher absenteeism and the effects of this on teachers' ability to implement curriculum in schools and to establish the challenges in the implementation of curriculum teachers face in addressing the HIV I AIDS issues with regards to implementing the curriculum. The research study adopted descriptive survey design in which 22 secondary public schools were sampled randomly. Four students from each of the sampled were sampled randomly. The study also sampled two teachers from the schools and all the headteachers, hence a sample size of 154 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and then were analyzed by use of descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution and percentages. The study established that HIV I AIDS had a negligible effect on teachers as curriculum implementers. Finally the study established that the teachers seldom absent themselves from school. It revealed that even the ones that absented themselves, it not as a result of frequent illnesses. The study recommended that government through the stakeholders in the HIV I AIDS management should channel efforts towards sensitizing the teachers on the HIV / AIDS. The study further recommended that the stakeholders in the HIV / AIDS management such as the government and the national aids council should provide3 more AIDS drugs for the teachers. And finally, the study recommended that the teachers be given early treatment to avoid frequent illnesses thereby minimizing the rate of absenteeism. The study suggests that similar studies should be replicated in other institutions of learning in Kenya to determine the effect of HIV / AIDS on the performance of the instructors.
