    Abstract
    This research work was on the role of the Church in management of socio-economic projects, A case of South Kenya conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The background of the study addressed issues of management by defining what management is and also examining the existing managers on whether they were doing what management entails. The statement of the problem of the study is that since the establishment of the Socio-economic projects, there has never been a clear way of running the projects since the seventh Day Adventist church does not have a human resource department. Due to this the church faces major challenges that have to do with recruitment and selection, staff compensation and motivation, training and development and personnel policies. The objectives of the study - - included the influence of funding on management, the degree to which recruitment and selection, compensation, training and development, 'and marketing influence management of the socio-economic projects. The study's significance is to help the Church and organizations engaged in the same project management to_embrace better ways of management to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. The literature was reviewed in accordance to the objectives. The population of the study was 190 members from this identified projects which include; guesthouses, Media-houses, Schools and Colleges, Hospitals and Dispensaries. The sample size was 38 which is the 20% of the population. The data collection instruments included the Questionnaires and observations. Data was analyzed in frequencies and percentages which is presented in tables in chapter four. Finally the research gives the summary of findings, discussions, conclusions and recommendation D,S where organizations which whether for profit, or not profit, competition driven or not, need the practices of continues training and value addition if at all they want to satisfy their stakeholders' needs.
