Factors influencing women entrepreneur businesses performance in Kuria A case study of Kuria west sub-county, Migori county Kenya

Abstract

Micro-entrepreneurial businesses are considered to be the most critical factors that would help both urban and rural population through the creation of jobs, rescue out of unemployment and poverty and thereby impact upon developing skills, self-esteem and self-sufficiency. With the changing global scenario, women entrepreneurship has emerged in the forefront. The purpose of the study was to establish the factors influencing performance of women entrepreneur business in Kuria west sub-county, Migori County. The study focused on the following objectives; to establish the extent to which career interest influence performance of women entrepreneurship within Kuria West Sub-County Migori County, to establish the extent to which access to funding influence performance of women entrepreneurship within Kuria West Sub-County Migori County, to determine the extent to which influence of business planning skills of women on their performance in entrepreneurship within Kuria West Sub-County Migori County and to determine the influence of work life balance on performance of women in entrepreneurship businesses within Kuria West Sub-county Migori County. The study comprises of five chapters namely chapter; one, two and three, four and five. Chapter one deals with the background of the study, problem study, research objectives, hypothesis, and significance of the study, delimitation of the study and the possible limitations that was encountered by the researcher. Chapter two basically deals with reviewing of theories and the past studies. Chapter three: Research design and methodology. It encompasses: the research design which the researcher used. The study area where the researcher undertook the study, the target population and the sample size that the researcher obtained the information from, researcher instruments which the study employed in collecting the information, validity and the reliability of the research instruments, data collection procedures, data analysis procedures, operational definition of variables and ethical consideration. Chapter four presented data analysis, presentation and discussion while Chapter five presented summary of findings, conclusion, recommendations, contribution to the body of knowledge and suggestions for further research.
